The good lovin'--caution--who do you love--caution--good lovin from Copenhagen 1972 (4-14)is his most amazing performance to me. He really testifies in a manner which is different from all the other versions, he is in the pure blues mode, and his rap is more solid and original than most. And the boys just smoke---especially Keith.

Been working on a personal 6 cd compilation of Pig (not one of each tune he did, just what I feel is his best) for six months now. hard to pick and choose, but there are some scorchers out there. HtoHandle--4/29/71. FOr the band's best version of good lovin' 4-26-71--jeeze are they on fire. No rap, just pure manic dead in one of their all time best jams.

Thx WT.

Orchiddoctor, good picks as well...

I highly recommend "Keep Rolling By" from the (Rhino compilation) Birth of The Dead - anyone else roger that?

And the Wembly Caution out of sugar magnolia. Alligator--Caution 8/23/68 Shrine Aud--companion to two from the vault. Alligator Caution Thelma theater 12-12-69. Lovelight from the same night. Smokesatack Lightning--hell any version of that!!! Bear's Choice is stupendous as is the one from Portchester Feb (19?)1971. 2-14-68 (the alligator jam is on Anthem). The Fillmore West from the box set--3-1-69? The Lovelight from 9-19-70, Easy Wind from 9-20. The list is long. What amazes me is how few songs were actually in his repetoire and how seldom many were done. Very few Smokestacks. Some, like It's a Man's Man's World came and went (sigh). check out 6-5-70 and 4-19-70 as well as Harpur.

I'll put up my cd choices if I have time tomorrow.

Am I wrong again (I'll stop now-promise) to say Jerry really dug and fed off Pig.

Jerr though of Pig as the leader--at least the frontman--of the band. And yes, Pig's delivery was so rough and gruff that they all turned it up a notch. Pig was da man.
